Our Trip to The Key's

A little peek into our dreamy trip in the Florida Key's!

Our time spent in the Florida Keys was nothing short of amazing! We took a 6 hour car ride from Orlando down to Marathon with our friends! We rented a vacation home in Vaca Cove, and we loved the home that we stayed in! Perfect for running in and out of the sun all day! There were 6 other vacation homes on the resort. Each vacation home included a private hot tub and a beautiful pool which was shared by the other vacationers. We spent most of our days in the pool, and out in the bay on kayaks and paddle boards that were included with our vacation home!

We mainly stayed on our resort and relaxed, but we did take a couple of day trips. One of our day trips was to Key West. The drive was about an hour and a half from where we were staying, and the drive was beautiful! The Overseas Highway is quite a sight! When we finally made it to Key West, our first stop was the beach. Smathers Beach was small and simply made for lounging, reading a good book or just stopping by. The views here were beautiful! We explored much of the downtown, including the famous Duval Street! It was so lovely getting to walk around and explore the city both during the day and the night. Just before the sunset, we stopped in the Cuban Coffee Queen! They had amazing coffee and hot chocolate! After that we watched the sunset and made our way to the Southern Most Point of the US! It was truly the perfect end to our day!

On the third day of our trip we explored Grassy Key, which was close to where we were staying. There, we visited the Dolphin Research Center! The research centre houses dolphins that are unable to live in the wild! They institution was lovely and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend you look into the research centre if you're ever in Grassy Key!

Our last day was one for the books! We spent the majority of our day out on the water kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming! It was so fun exploring the mangroves and each canal lined with stunning homes! To wrap up our day we went to a local restaurant, The Island Fish Co.! Our dinners were delicious and the atmosphere was so fun!

All around we had a great trip! There is nothing better then a vacation with a beautiful view, good food and even better company!

xoxo, Chelsea
