January 4, 2021

Happy New Year! I cannot believe that it is finally 2021! The past year has felt like an eternity and some how not long enough! 2020 has taught me so much and I am incredibly grateful (you can read more about that on my Instagram). With the new year in full swing I thought that I might pop on here and share some of my goals for the up coming year. I tend to set small, more attainable goals. I find that if I just go all in first time around I don't accomplish them. I enjoy building on them throughout the year and seeing my progress come together!

My 2021 Goals

Goal #1: Re-evaluate my five year plan. If I'm being honest, this is months over due! Since Covid- 19 a lot has changed! Some of my interests, I've added a history minor onto my degree and so much more. This year I really want and need to sit down and look at where I want to be in the near future; as well as what I would like to have accomplished.

Goal #2: Take control of my digestive health. This is something that I have struggled with for years! And while I do my best to take care of myself in this department, I have really struggled this past year. I used to have flare ups quite often when I was younger, but I obtained good control over it in two previous years (2018-2019). I had minimal flare ups, and when I did I could always find the root of the problem. But this past year I had really struggled with my digestive health and had more flare ups than I would like to admit. I am aiming to learn to manage it better this year!

Goal #3: Get active 5 times a week! Whether it's a 30 minute walk before online classes, or a 3 hour bike ride. This year I want to get active at least 5 times a week. With Covid-19 this past year, I cut myself some slack in the exercise department and focused more on my mental health; but this year I truly want to make the conscious effort to move my body!

Goal #4: Be on my phone less. I feel like this is such a cliché goal, but if I'm being honest pre- Covid I was not on my phone very often throughout the day. I have always believed that it is important to be present and in the moment. It can be so easy getting caught up in the distractions of your phone and I am striving to get back to the amount I was once on it!

Goal #5: Do more of what makes me happy! This past year was filled with much discipline and many sacrifices. Now that it is 2021 I want to give myself some grace to do more of the things that I love; because you should not hold back on the things that bring you the most joy.

Thanks for reading through some of my 2021 goals! I am incredibly excited to see what the year ahead brings! I'd love to know what some of your goals are this year! Let me know in the comments below or DM me on Instagram! Wishing you a year of peace, prosperity, and hope! Happy New Year!

Where I Have Been

I cannot believe how long it has been since I wrote my last blog post! Honestly where do I begin? I have been swamped with school work this semester, it kind of took over my life haha. But, I am super excited to announce that I wrote my last exam on Friday... which means that I am half way through second year! I can't believe it! Over the past few weeks we have put up all of our Christmas decorations and the house is looking so magical! Christmas is my favourite time of year. My Mom is the queen of Christmas decorations and I love seeing the house transform! Hopefully you guys are hanging in there as school and work wrap up before the holidays begin! Hope you are having a wonderful week!

1. I was gifted this book back in November for my birthday and I have absolutely fallen in love with it! The book follows Jeanne Damas and Lauren Bastide (the two women behind the book) as they interview 20 Parisienne's on their lives in the city of Paris! It is such an interesting read and has really made me miss traveling!

2. If you know me, you know that I have the hardest time shopping for jeans! This current love is for all my girls out there with long legs! I heard about these jeans through another blog that I read and I can honestly say that my life has been changed! GoodThreads jeans run true to size and have great length! For reference, I'm about 5'8 and the length is perfect!

3. This Mac Pro LipPalette is incredible! I swear by Mac products and I love having the option to mix and match colours; as well as the option to have better control over the pigmentation that I want. I can't say enough good things about this product. You truly get what you pay for.

Getting Back Into the Groove

This past week has consisted of getting back into the swing of things. I completed my first week of online courses for second year! That is so crazy and exciting! And I have been working hard to get back into all of my good habits. This week was not short by any means, but I'm glad to be back in a routine. Over the weekend, my family and I simply enjoyed each others company. Saturday was our lazy day, consisting of relaxing and making homemade pizza on the Keg! It's one of my favourite dinners! We started Sunday off with a big Canadian breakfast, with our neighbours and enjoyed the sunshine in the afternoon. Overall it was a restful weekend!

Hope you guys had a great weekend as well!

1. White sneakers. I am definitely late to the game on this one, but I recently came across a pair of white sneakers and had to have them! I never really understood why they were such a trend if I'm being honest. Aside from going with essentially every outfit, I just thought what's the point, they are going to get dirty and it's going to drive me crazy. But when I came across this Adidas pair a couple of weeks ago, I was sucked right in! They are so comfortable and the material appears to be relatively easy to clean (which makes me super happy haha!).

2. I feel like a denim skirt as a staple in every wardrobe! It's a go- to piece that can add some flair to any look! Recently, I have found myself reaching for mine a lot more!

Simply 7 Quinoa Chips

3. Quinoa Chips. Seriously you guys, don't knock them until you've tried them! They are so tasty, and a great alternative to potato chips! We recently picked up a bag and may or may not have finished it in one sitting! I highly recommending giving these guys a go!

4. Lately I have found myself reading so many Vogue articles! Ones that are on France and all of the beautiful places you must visit! Ones on fashion and beauty. I'm sure you get the point, but lately I have been consumed by their articles in my free time.

5. I switch up my lotions quite often! I don't have a go- to, and as soon as I finish a bottle I try a different one. For the last little while I've been using a lotion from one of my favourite brands, Crabtree and Evelyn. The scent is Savanah Gardens, and let me tell you it brings me back to my childhood! Have you have ever used Avon's Skin so Soft? Well, if you know what I'm talking about, I swear that this lotion smells just like it, only a bit more subtle! It's definitely not a scent for everyone, but I love it!
